I am a working mom of two magical children. I love my job as a pediatrician in a community clinic – every patient gives me an opportunity to show love, compassion, patience and joy. I’m married to an engineer, which means I always have to explain my jokes. My zen is accomplished with a combo of daily yoga, meditation, an antidepressant, and running whenever I can. When I’m really blessed, I get to dance Mexican folklorico, struggle through playing my piano or my guitar, and paint.  I’m teaching my inner voice that if it doesn’t have something nice to say, not to say anything at all. Or at least, to consider whether it is true, nice, or necessary.  Even though I have to mute my inner screaming at least once a week, and I often trade sleep for rumination and anxiety, I can say with deep truth that I am truly happy.
